When we launched Artifact Documentaries in 2004, we did so with the goal of raising the standards of wedding videography into the realm of professional documentary filmmaking. Our films would go beyond the chronology of wedding day events to explore the deeper stories that unfold on the day your lives begin as a new couple.

As a husband and wife team with over three decades of combined experience in filmmaking and photography, we were confident that we could create films that would turn a wedding-planning afterthought into an heirloom that your family would cherish for generations.

To begin, we shoot on both classic Super 8mm film and widescreen digital video. There’s just nothing like the vintage beauty of 8mm film, and the gentle tickety-tickety-tick of the old-style camera, blended at just the right moments with the richness of today’s digital video to make you feel that you’re experiencing a genuine part of history…

But the true heart of our success lies within our post production editing. Creating finely crafted wedding films goes beyond simply paring down the footage and adding music. It’s about discovering moments, and weaving them into just the right order – sometimes out of order! – to not merely show your wedding, but to present the story of your lives on the day you were wed, in a film that’s engaging and moving to behold.
